The homeowner requested a calm space where they could relax in the evenings and showcased the refined style of the rest of their home. Features such as an oversized upholstered headboard and large luscious area rug soften the room to keep the room feeling serene and welcoming. The medium wood tones of the nightstands and dresser contrast yet complement the rich wood floors, bringing gradient warmth to the overall space. A mixture of transitional and traditional furnishings create the perfect balance of clean and classic in this master suite.
Adjacent to the bed is a spacious sitting area perfect for curling up by the fire with a good book at the end of a long day. We brought the fireplace up a notch by resurfacing the surround with a beautiful marble and painting the existing trim work a rich charcoal to create a striking focal point that perfectly balances the room. By blending the soft, cool colors of the chaise lounge and patterned area rug with the vibrant, warm tones of the burl wood side table, the space feels cozy and inviting without being too heavy. The vintage brass and crystal pendant light was repurposed from the foyer pre-renovation and made its way to its new home to bring elegance, sophistication and character to the lounge area. Custom floor-to-ceiling drapery provides both texture and privacy while still allowing natural light to pour in through the windows. Personal treasures and decorative accessories are displayed on the built-in shelves for added personal touch.
In the end, this master suite serves as both a functional and polished oasis, ideal for resting the night (or day) away.
